Our Annual Report is one of the most important tools in our marketing portfolio - thousands of people receive these in the mail, at our events, and during one-on-one meetings with Community Foundation staff members. VIG helped us make that first impression a great one. During the design process, they really helped us define our visual Iook, which they then were able to turn into a brand campaign that resonates with our donors. As a marketing department of one, I've come to count on the VIG staff as an extension of my team!

Introduction

York County Community Foundation is one of York County’s leading non-profit organizations devoted to making a lasting impact on future generations. Since 1961, YCCF has managed charitable gifts from donors in order to support key initiatives throughout York County. By managing and investing donations YCCF supports charitable funds dedicated to needs ranging from education, embracing aging, education & workforce, revitalizing local communities and so much more. YCCF reached out to VIG to help them update their online presence and create a suite of print collateral for their largest annual event.

Assignment

YCCF came to the VIG team with the unique task of developing a website that showcased what they do for the local community and that made finding resources easier for their diverse audiences. They wanted the website to make a powerful impression among users and a complete package of materials for their annual donor meeting. Both pieces had to reflect a fresh look and feel and also live up to the YCCF name. The team and VIG delivered an end to end solution.

Challenge

Navigating a website with an abundance of resources for multiple audiences can be a challenge for both admins and end users. YCCF’s existing website had additional pages and online resources that were continually added as the organization grew. Over time content became difficult to find for both YCCF and audience members. Their existing website wasn’t designed to grow with their changing needs. They needed a solution that represented their brand well and engaged future donors.

Strategy

To help the YCCF team both now and in the future, VIG built a custom website utilizing the WordPress CMS that managed pages, content and other online resources. Within the CMS YCCF could add additional pages to site menus, organize content for different audiences, update images and make updates all in one place. The website needed to be more than online representation of the YCCF brand, it needed to be a comprehensive resource for donors, staff members and grantees looking to access key information.

To carry the fresh look and feel of YCCF’s unique branding elements from the site redesign into some of YCCF’s print collateral, we partnered with their team to design their Annual Report and invitation suite. The YCCF Annual Report featured over a dozen pages highlighting the most captivating donor stories throughout the calendar year. Coupled with financial statements, letters from the President & CEO and information from partnering organizations, the Annual Report left a powerful impression among audience members during the YCCF Annual Meeting.

Supported by breathtaking invitations, meeting programs and inserts, the entire package reflected the strength and design of the website and left the audience talking about the piece for months.
