Civil War Trails Website: PA Office of Tourism
The Pennsylvania Office of Tourism wanted to create a website allowing visitors to follow the Civil War trails of history. They wanted rich features and an outstanding user experience with a lot of interactivity. They had an existing site design and branding and contracted with VIG for programming and website development.
We ensured that the final website provided the rich user experience they envisioned.
PA Civil War Trails Website Development
The Pennsylvania Office of Tourism wanted a website to allow visitors to discover the Civil War through the actual battle sites and landmarks where it happened. They wanted the website, like the real historical sites, to provide a rich, immersive visitor experience.
Our Solution
We programmed and developed a fully-functional content management system for easy maintenance and site updates. We integrated the site with Facebook, Twitter, Google Maps, Google Earth, and an online hotel reservation system.
PA Civil War Trails Website
Website visitors have access to pre-planned road trips to Civil War historical sites and points of interest across the state, presented as easy-to-reference itineraries. The site allows visitors to walk in the footsteps of the soldiers and citizens who fought for a stronger nation, as they discover the Civil War where it happened.
Visitors to the website can also access letters between soldiers and their families to experience stories from those who lived during this time in their own words.
This interactive website acts as a valuable resource for visitors to Pennsylvania with an interest in history.
Interactive photo galleries, virtual tours, and links to events can also be found on the site.
The PA Civil War Trails website is a great resource for history lovers and casual visitors alike. With all the necessary information at your fingertips, you can easily plan a weekend getaway with friends and family.
